Hi! My name is Lester Phillip Edwards, and I am proud to introduce myself as the Ponemah mascot.
My History: My relationship with Dr. Edwards began in January 2006 at the young age of one. A wonderful woman took me in from the snow and brought me to Dr. Edwards to be vaccinated and neutered. Unfortunately, she had too many cats already and was going to put me in her garage for the winter.
Dr. Edwards recognized how unique and amazing I was, so she decided to take me home. (She kept referring to me as a dog in a cat suit..... strange). Sadly, Dr. Edwards' 13 year old cat Gizmo, decided that a young, large male was not what she had in mind, so after a 3 week hunger strike, Dr. Edwards was forced to find me a new home.
On November 16, 2006, Dr. Edwards received a surprise call from the new owner, stating that "although she loved him dearly she needed to find Lester a new home". Excited and worried, Dr. Edwards had her bring me right down, and the human and feline that were destined to be together were reunited. Other than a few extra pounds and a urinary tract infection, I was the same loving cat and now, because of her new veterinary hospital, I had both a place to call home and a purpose in life.
My role: I take my job as Ponemah mascot very seriously. My duties include sleeping, eating, roaming, cuddling, comforting, and greeting. I do well as I love people and am not afraid of other animals. I make fast friends with our clients and I perform all of my duties to the best of my ability.
Please feel free to come visit me. Ask for me in times of happiness or sadness and I will be honored to come say hello and spend a few minutes of my day with you.
Sincerely,
Lester
